Program Details
Children foster attachment and a sense of security through one-on-one interaction with caregivers throughout the caregiving routine.
Throughout the day, children engage in physical activity and discovery through play on the floor with a variety of toys and materials that are age appropriate and stimulating.
Our Infant Educators also engage infants through play, singing, reading books, sensory activities, and daily walks to promote socialization and language.
Our Infant Teachers interact with children at their level, as eye contact and recognition are important in an infant's life and throughout their development.
We believe that each child is a unique individual that learns at his or her own pace, and quarterly reports are given to parents throughout the first year to monitor each child's individual development.
We prioritize providing a safe, nurturing and loving environment where children feel welcome to learn and grow with the guidance and support of our teachers.

Infant Schedule
At First Step, we know and respect that each child is a unique individual with their own needs, especially young infants. Therefore, our infant educators are responsive to these individual needs and follow the schedules established by each individual child. Overtime, with growth and consistency, infants will follow First Step's daily schedule, which promotes language, gross motor skills, cognitive development, and early independence to best foster a strong foundation of learning and well-rounded development for each child in our program.
